Sam Cohen is JLF's resident data nerd.
Sam is the Founder of OpenTent, where he develops data-fueled tools for relationship-based organizations to help them build community stronger, faster, and smarter.
Sam grew up in Farmington, Maine, in a house that used to be a barn, and now lives in Brooklyn. He holds a B.A. in Jewish Studies and Web Development from New York University, and has studied at Yeshivat Hadar, the Pardes Institute, the Brandeis Collegiate Institute, and Ayeka. As a student at NYU, he founded a still-thriving nondenominational Jewish community for 300+ unengaged students, and then after graduation combined his passions for people and tech to spend two years at the Edgar M. Bronfman Center for Jewish Student Life as Senior Engagement Associate/Data Architect. Sam has had the privilege and pleasure to co-teach 8 JLF classes, and helped develop the Life's Big Questions course.
