Rob Friedman, Hillel 818

Rob Friedman, Hillel 818

Rob Friedman is a 5th year Rabbinic Student at the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Los Angeles. Born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, Rob spent his college years at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, where he was very involved in Hillel and found it to be a home and strong source of both community and identity. From there, Rob moved to New York to study Hebrew Bible at the Jewish Theological Seminary of America before pursuing rabbinical school. In his time in LA, Rob has taught religious school in a community synagogue, served two wonderful small congregations in Southern California as their Rabbi, and most recently spent a year as a Spiritual Counselor at Beit T’Shuvah in Culver City. Rob is incredibly excited to spend a year with the Hillel 818 community, helping others have the same positive experiences he had in college. Rob is always down for a cup of coffee or tea, a walk around campus, or a game of pool or ping pong in the office! Feel free to stop by and please don’t be a stranger!!
