Rachmiel Gurwitz, Muhlenberg College

Rabbi Rachmiel Gurwitz is the Jewish Chaplain and Hillel Director at Muhlenberg College Hillel. Before receiving Semikha (ordination) from Yeshivat Chovevei Torah, Rabbi Rachmiel served as chaplain for Holocaust survivors, worked for Filipino migrant workers' rights with T'ruah: The Rabbinic Call for Human Rights and built his entrepreneurial repertoire as a fellow with the Office of Innovation at Hillel International. In addition he served as the rabbinic intern at the Bronfman Center for Jewish Student Life at NYU where he facilitated text-based discussions for students from across the Jewish spectrum. He loves learning texts from the mystical tradition, especially the works of Rabbi Nachman and exploring the inner spiritual world. In his free time, you can find him baking bread from scratch or hiking off trail with his wife Joanna and son Azariah.
