Rabbi Rose Durbin, Hillel of Broward and Palm Beach
Rabbi Rose absolutely loves serving as the Campus Rabbi at Hillel of Broward and Palm Beach- and she especially loves leading JLF at FAU. Following her graduation from Brown University, she worked at the URJ Kesher College department, where she supported Hillel student leaders from across the country. During her rabbinical student days at HUC-JIR in NYC, she served as a student rabbi in Glens Falls NY, in the United Kingdom, at Sarah Neuman Home and Hospice, volunteered weekly at the HUC Soup Kitchen, and helped build latrines in Senegal, West Africa with AJWS. Rose successfully presented her rabbinic thesis; “King David’s Divas,” and was ordained in 2010. Following ordination, Rabbi Rose served as the Director of Education for several synagogues in upstate NY and Vermont before she became the rabbi of Knesseth Israel Synagogue in Gloversville, NY, where she took great pride in establishing meaningful relationships in this historic community. Rabbi Rose has extensive leadership experience working with youth, most recently serving as the Director of Education at Temple Judea in Palm Beach Gardens. She grew up at URJ Camp Coleman and still loves serving as faculty there with her family each summer. Rabbi Rose, her husband Rabbi Matthew Durbin and their opinionated and cuddly daughters, Delilah, Maya and Eliana, live in Palm City, where you will find her attending hot yoga classes, eating Indian food, and binge-watching Netflix.
