Lizzy Wallis, Wisconsin
Lizzy Wallis grew up in a large Jewish family in St. Louis, where every holiday was filled with delicious food and big hugs. She earned her B.A. in Geography, in June 2017, from the University of Denver, with minors in Sustainability and Hebrew. In college, Lizzy was an active member of the Hillel community and interned for Hazon, where she worked to build the connection between sustainable living and Judaism for others. During her junior year, Lizzy studied abroad at the Arava Institute in Israel, working toward peace and cooperation with individuals from the Middle East. This experience emphasized her passion for social justice and working toward cross-cultural understanding and coexistence. She is excited to dive deep into the intersections of Jewish text and tradition with social justice values through helping teach the Social Justice JLF class. Lizzy enjoys all things nature, hiking, and cooking, and loves trying out new recipes!
