Daniel Atwood, NYU

Daniel is the Rabbinic Intern at the Bronfman Center for Jewish Life at NYU. Living in Washington Heights, Daniel is a 4th year rabbinical student at Yeshivat Chovevei Torah. Daniel has served as the Rabbinic Intern at Anshe Sholom B'nai Israel Congregation in Chicago and completed a unit of Chaplaincy at Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital. Daniel graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Honors Program at Yeshiva University in 2015, with BAs in Psychology and Medieval Jewish Studies, where he also served as Managing Editor of The Commentator, YU"s official undergraduate newspaper. 
Passionate about local politics and engaging the Jewish community in local issues, Daniel is an activist and community organizer working on local campaigns both as a volunteer and as Chief Strategist for a campaign in Brooklyn. Daniel is esepcially passionate about criminal justice reform and LGBTQ inclusion, serving on the board of Jewish Queer Youth. Daniel spends his time listening to a lot of podcasts, producing video commentary on New York State politics, and loves to travel the country whenever he can.
