We’re excited to announce the first-ever JLF Retreat: a weekend exclusively for JLF alumni dedicated to celebrating Shabbat, delving into next-level big questions and Jewish wisdom, and meeting peers from campuses all across the country. We’re bringing the twinkly lights, the tapas, and the brain-achingly, soul-stirringly provocative conversations to the beautiful Berkshire mountains of Connecticut for an unforgettable and unprecedented weekend.

What a time to be alive! When is it? Where?
We’ll gather from Friday, January 19th - Sunday, January 21st, at the Isabella Freedman Retreat Center in Falls Village, Connecticut. Think: sustainable farm-fresh food, baby goats, night hikes, bonfires, the strum of guitars...

Can I come?
Yes! Yes! If you have participated in JLF within the past two years, as either a fellow or as a JLF Intern, you are eligible to apply. You must also be enrolled as a current university student. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis. Priority will be given to early applicants, and spots will fill very quickly, so don’t delay. We’re looking to create a diverse retreat community, with participants from a variety of universities and backgrounds, with a multiplicity of Jewish stories.

Ok, that’s me. Now, how much does this thing cost?
We are delighted to be able to make this experience highly subsidized, thanks to JLF’s generous funders. Each participant is responsible for a $54 non-refundable participation fee*, which will be collected when you confirm your acceptance to the retreat. We’re covering everything else: your travel, your food, and all that comes with a magical weekend retreat experience like this.

* If this fee is a barrier to your participation, please send us a note at info@jewishlearningfellowship.org so we can figure out a way to get you there.

Uh, how do I get to Connecticut?
Planes, trains, and automobiles. Upon acceptance to the retreat, we will be in touch to work with you on booking your travel!

Ugh, that weekend is kind of tough for me. Talk me into applying.
We didn’t have you at “baby goats?”

Seriously though, you won’t want to miss this once-in-a-lifetime gathering of smart, wise, soulful, creative, dare-we-say badass fellow JLF people. We’ll gather, eat, sing, bless, celebrate, learn Torah, move, take deep gulps of mountain air, and dream about the future.

How do I apply?
Complete the application below. We’ll ask you for the basics, and then we’ll ask you a few short, open-ended questions to get to know you better.

I got questions!
As we say in JLF, we don’t purport to have “the big answers” to life’s big questions. But we can probably answer your logistical queries. Shoot Erica and Shira a note at info@jewishlearningfellowship.org and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.
